  • My Sunday Reset Routine: The Little Things That Help Me Start the Week Right

My Sunday Reset Routine: The Little Things That Help Me Start the Week Right

I’m definitely someone who feels better when my week starts off organized. If I spend my entire Sunday doing absolutely nothing, Monday usually hits me like a truck. So over the last few years, I’ve created a simple Sunday reset routine that helps me feel a little more prepared without spending the whole day cleaning.

It isn’t about having the perfect Pinterest house or checking off a million things on a to-do list. It’s just about doing a few small things that make my week feel less chaotic.

The first thing I always do is make the bed. It sounds so simple, but it instantly makes the bedroom feel cleaner. Even if nothing else gets done that day, at least I have one room that feels put together.

Next, I’ll throw in a load of laundry. I don’t try to wash every single thing I own on Sundays, but getting a head start means I’m not digging through the closet on Wednesday wondering where all my favorite clothes went.

After that, I’ll usually spend a little time in the kitchen. I’ll wipe down the counters, clean out the fridge if it needs it, and make sure I have a few easy meals planned for the week. I don’t meal prep like some people do, but I like knowing I have something simple to make when life gets busy.

One of my favorite parts of Sunday is taking a little extra time with my skincare. During the week, I’m usually rushing through my routine before work or bed, but Sundays are different. I’ll put on a face mask, use a hydrating serum, and actually enjoy the process instead of treating it like another task to check off.

I also like to paint my nails if they need it. Fresh nails always make me feel more put together, even if I’m just sitting at my desk most of the week.

Of course, no Sunday reset is complete without lighting a candle. There’s just something about a clean house, a favorite candle, and a cup of coffee or tea that instantly makes everything feel calmer.

Before the evening ends, I’ll take a few minutes to look at my calendar. I check appointments, birthdays, and anything important coming up that week. It helps me avoid those “I completely forgot!” moments that seem to happen at the worst possible time.

I’ve learned that getting ready for the week doesn’t have to be complicated. You don’t need to spend eight hours cleaning your house or buying expensive organizing products. Sometimes it’s the little habits that make the biggest difference.

For me, a Sunday reset is less about having everything perfect and more about giving myself a fresh start. It helps me walk into Monday feeling calmer, more organized, and ready for whatever the week brings.

I’d love to know what your Sunday reset looks like. Is there one thing you always do before a new week begins? Let me know—I might even add it to my own routine!

  • My Favorite Summer Movies (So Far)

My Favorite Summer Movies (So Far)

There’s just something about summer that makes going to the movies feel a little more special. Maybe it’s the air conditioning after a hot day or maybe it’s just that so many exciting movies seem to come out this time of year. Either way, I’ve been making it a point to get back into the theater more often, and I’ve already found a few favorites.

Michael Was Everything I Hoped It Would Be

Out of everything I’ve seen this summer, Michael has easily been my favorite.

As someone who grew up listening to Michael Jackson, this movie felt like such a trip down memory lane. I found myself smiling through so many scenes because the music instantly took me back to my childhood. It reminded me of family gatherings where Michael Jackson was always playing, trying to learn his dance moves in the living room, and hearing his songs everywhere on the radio.

The soundtrack alone is worth seeing the movie for.

There were so many iconic songs featured throughout the film that I couldn’t help but sing along in my head. It’s one of those movies that leaves you wanting to go home and make a playlist of all your favorite Michael Jackson hits.

I also appreciated how the film celebrated his incredible impact on music and pop culture. Whether you’ve been a lifelong fan or you’re just discovering his music, it’s hard to deny the influence he had on generations of artists.

When the credits started rolling, I realized I didn’t want the movie to end. Those are usually the films that stick with me the longest.

The Movie I’m Most Excited to See Next

The next movie on my list is Masters of the Universe.

If you grew up in the ’80s like I did, you probably understand why I’m so excited.

Back then, He-Man and She-Ra were everywhere. I remember watching the cartoons, seeing the toys in every store, and pretending to be part of Eternia’s adventures. It was such a huge part of growing up that it’s impossible not to feel a little nostalgic whenever I hear the words “By the Power of Grayskull!”

I’m really hoping the new movie captures that same sense of adventure while giving the story a modern update. Nostalgia is a powerful thing, but I also love seeing classic characters introduced to a whole new generation.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or someone who’s never seen the original cartoons, I think movies like this are a fun reminder that some stories really do stand the test of time.

Why I Love Summer Movie Season

One thing I’ve noticed this year is that so many movies are leaning into nostalgia. Instead of constantly introducing brand-new characters, studios are bringing back the franchises many of us grew up with.

Honestly, I’m not mad about it.

There’s something comforting about seeing familiar stories, hearing music you grew up with, or reconnecting with characters that were a big part of your childhood. It feels like Hollywood has finally realized that people enjoy a little nostalgia mixed with something fresh.

For me, movies aren’t just about entertainment. They’re about memories. Sometimes one song or one scene can instantly transport you back to a specific moment in your life, and I think that’s what made Michael so special for me.

    Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a movie to watch this summer, I definitely recommend checking out Michael. Between the music, the performances, and all the nostalgic moments, it was one of those films that stayed with me long after I left the theater.

And as for Masters of the Universe, I already know I’ll be grabbing my popcorn and heading to the theater as soon as it’s released. Some childhood favorites never lose their magic, and I’m excited to see He-Man and the gang back on the big screen.

What have you seen this summer? I’d love to hear what movies you’ve been loving—or what you’re planning to see next!

  • My Current Favorite MAC Lip Combo for Summer

My Current Favorite MAC Lip Combo for Summer

I’m a sucker for a good lip combo, and if you’ve been on TikTok lately, you’ve probably noticed MAC is having a major moment again. I’ve seen so many different combinations going viral, but one has completely stolen my heart—and honestly, it’s not one I ever would have put together myself.

My current favorite is the MAC Nightmoth Lip Pencil paired with the new MACximal Silky Matte Lipstick in Flamingo.

At first, I thought, There’s no way that’s going to work. Nightmoth is such a deep, dramatic plum liner, and Flamingo is a bright, vibrant pink. They’re two shades I never would’ve thought to pair together, but somehow they just… work.

The darker liner gives your lips so much definition, while the bright pink in the center makes the whole look feel fresh, fun, and perfect for summer. It’s bold without being over the top, and it’s one of those combinations that gets people asking, “What are you wearing?”

One thing I love about this combo is that you can make it your own. Blend the liner in for a softer, more diffused look, or leave it more defined if you want extra contrast. Add your favorite clear gloss on top for an even juicier finish, or keep it matte for a more modern vibe.

I love that TikTok has brought MAC back into the spotlight because it’s reminded me that some of the best makeup looks come from experimenting. If I had only stuck to the “safe” nude lip combos I usually wear, I never would’ve discovered this one.

If you’re looking to step outside your comfort zone this summer, I definitely recommend giving the Nightmoth and Flamingo combo a try. It may not seem like an obvious match at first, but that’s exactly what makes it so fun.

Have you tried any of the viral MAC lip combos? I’d love to know which one is your favorite!
